Recent Paintings by Christopher Quirk
June 6 through July 12, 2009

In a visual vocabulary all his own, Quirk invites the viewer to participate in his interpretation of time passages. Lush and spare biomorphic shapes slip and pour over the canvas field, which at times could be likened to a visual Haiku. The paintings present the viewer with ideographic verses that flow, unfold, and recede in phases.

An opening reception for the artist will be held at the gallery (116 Warren Street) on June 6 from 6 to 8 pm.

Also on view, a group show featuring works by Lucio Pozzi, Martha Lloyd, Camillo Kerrigan, Willem deKooning, Bart Gulley, Dan Welden, and others.
